Assam: Hailakandi inter-school football tournament

 JK Memorial English School and Pushpa Devi Vualka HS School have emerged winners and set to represent Hailakandi district in the Pilik Choudhury and Deukon Memorial inter-district school football tournaments to be played at Nagaon, Barpeta and Guwahati later this month.

District Sports Officer, Jimli Borah disclosed that JK Memorial English School are winners of both sub groups Under 14 and Under 17 (Boys) and Pushpa Devi Vualka HS School Under17 (Girls).

The inter-school football tournament 2018-19 was held at DSA Ground on July 4 and 5 and the winners were given away trophies and mementos by Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan, District Sports Officer, besides other dignitaries.

For the football aficionados, Borah said arrangements are being made for screening of the semi-finals, the third place play-off and the finals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup at Nazrul Sadan auditorium in Hailakandi town on July 10, 11, 14 and 15.
