Consequent upon publication of the Panchayat Elections, 2018 notification on Monday, the Hailakandi district administration has asked all the officials and employees of various government departments, undertakings and boards not to leave headquarters without prior permission.
In an order issued to this effect on Monday itself following the publication of Panchayat Elections notification, Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Adil Khan directed all the officials and employees not to leave headquarters without his prior permission.
Khan also directed those who have had left the headquarters prior to the election notification to return forthwith.
Elections to all the four levels of PRIs in South Assam’s Hailakandi district will take place on December 9. In the second phase, elections will be held in 10 districts, including three districts of Hailakandi, Cachar and Karimganj of Barak Valley.
Under Hailakandi district, total PRI constituencies comprise 11 ZPMs, 62 APMs, 62 GPPs and 620 GPMs. Elections will be held in 626 polling stations. Of the 3,87,132 electorates, 2,13,309 are male and 1,73,823 female voters.
Meanwhile, the district administration is readying for issue of election notice as per Rule 16 of the Assam Panchayat (Constitution) Rules on Friday.
