Manipur: NCC AIR Squadron Celebrates 92nd IAF Day in Thoubal

A special event was organised at Ananda Purna School in Thoubal district of Manipur.

THOUBAL-  1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC, under the aegis of the NCC Group HQ, Imphal celebrated the 92 Glorious years of the Indian Air Force (IAF). A special event was organised at Ananda Purna School in Thoubal district of Manipur.

The event, was attended by the NCC fraternity, NCC Air Wing cadets, local residents, students, and teachers of the school. A short movie showcasing the glorious achievement of IAF was screened for the attendees.

Brig SR Sharma, Group Commander, NCC Group Imphal was the chief guest. During his address to the gathering, he exhorted the role of IAF since its rising.

Having played a pivotal role in all the campaigns and HADR operations IAF proved its mettle and professloism across the globe.

He also emphasized the importance of national integration and the progressive involvement of youth in nation-building and also dwelled upon the role of NCC cadets in the growth of society. The event culminated with the recitation of the NCC Song and National Anthem.

The IAF was established on 8th October 1932. Since then it has played a critical role in national defence, safeguarding Indian airspace and conducting aerial warfare during conflicts, and undertaking Humanitarian operations during natural calamities and emergencies.

IAF is known for its precision, technological advancements, and highly trained professionals. It operates a wide range of fighter jets, transport planes, helicopters, drones etc.

With the motto of ‘Touch the Sky with Glory,’ the IAF continues to evolve with modern equipment, including the induction of advanced jets like the Rafale, indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas, enhancing its strategic capabilities through partnership with global defence forces. The force remains a symbol of strength and national pride.
