Mizoram: Chakma District Mizo National Youth Front condemns gross violation of rules by Chairman

KAMLANAGAR-    Chakma District Mizo National Youth Front condemns Dg. Mohan Chakma, Chairman for his failure to conduct the CADC Monsoon Session after a lapse of more than 5 months which is tantamount to violation of Rule 33(4) of CADC (CCB) Rules, 2002 as it provides “The District Council shall be summoned to meet three times in a year and four months shall not elapse between its last sitting in one Session and the date appointed for its first sitting in the next Session”  , stated Molin Kumar Chakma, President, Chakma District Mizo National Youth Front

The Front also condemns the illegal order dt. 20/09/21, disqualifying Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, from the membership of District Council which is ultra-vires and beyond the authority of the Chairman and a violation of Rule 13(2) of CADC (CCB) Rules, 2002 which provides; “If any question arises as to whether a member of the District Council has become subject of any of the disqualifications mentioned in rule 12, the question shall be referred through the Secretary to the Government, by the Chairman, and if it relates to the Chairman, then by the Deputy Chairman, for decision to the Governor whose decision shall be final”.

The Chakma District Mizo Notional Youth Front is of the opinion that what prompted the Chairman, CADC to take this criminal action is a revenge as 10 Members of District Council out of 18 members in the MNF Lagislature Party wrote on 5th July, 2021, to the CEM Durjya Dhan Chakma requesting him to resign from the post of CEM on moral ground for losing majority support.
