The road falling within the state of Meghalaya, and managed by the state PWD, but despite this fact , this road is worst managed since decades.

TURA-  The Rajabala-Hallidayganj AMPT Road in West Garo hills, which is the lifeline of lakhs of people between the states of Meghalaya and Assam, has been one of the most important yet neglected roads in the state of Meghalaya.  The road falling within the state of Meghalaya, and managed by the state PWD, but despite this fact , this road is worst managed since decades.

Photographs of this road themselves speaking about the worst condition of the road, commuters and residents of this areas  are frustrated,  as they grapple with potholes, uneven surfaces, and overall deterioration that has made travel on this route perilous and uncomfortable.

The worst condition of Rajabala-Hallidayganj AMPT Road since decade   also  prompting public outrage and raising questions about the commitment of the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s administration to improve infrastructure in his own district.

Other important thing is that, Conrad Sangma’s  sister Agatha K Sangma holds the position of Member of Parliament in the same district, the road remains in an abysmal state, causing inconvenience and hardships for the local residents.

“We have written several times to the state government to give us better roads but we continue to suffer through this on a daily basis.” said locals.

Local people expressed their discontent with the prevailing situation, highlighting the inconvenience and dangers they face on a daily basis due to the poor road condition. They have called upon the state government, particularly the Chief Minister’s Office, to urgently intervene and initiate substantial measures to improve the infrastructure and enhance the lives of the people residing in the area.

Villagers said that there have been so many potholes on the road link for years, and the concerned department has put only mud at various places due to which the commuters are facing so many hardships.

Travelling to school, college and hospitals is nothing short of a nightmare and for this it is now affecting the studies of students. The potholes are so huge that they are frightening.

For a long time, the people of the area, living their lives as a life-giving life, did not listen to their prayers even though they complied with various prayers to make their only road useful to all authorities. There is no one left from the panchayat to the district administration including the chief minister office. Despite all hope, the problem remains steady.

Now the Social media has been abuzz with posts and hashtags such as #CMOMeghalaya and #DCWestGaroHills denouncing the apathy displayed by the authorities responsible for maintaining the road. The public outcry signifies the community’s frustration and disappointment over the lack of progress and the failure to prioritize essential infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile the residents of this area  eagerly await tangible steps that will ensure the road’s reconstruction and prevent further deterioration, thereby improving the overall transportation network and quality of life of the people residing in this locality.
