Assam Woman Found Murdered in Bengaluru

BENGALURU- In a shocking incident, a young woman, Maya Gogoi, originally from Assam, was found murdered in a service apartment in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar area. Maya, employed at a private firm, was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover, Aarav Anay, who is now absconding, Media report said.
The crime occurred at The Royal Livings, a service apartment where Aarav, a native of Kannur, Kerala, had been staying for three days.

The police stated that the suspect had been staying at the service apartment with the woman for three days. Her body was found partially decomposed. CCTV footage from the apartment showed the woman and the suspect arriving together on November 23. After the murder, the suspect is believed to have fled, PTI reported.
Preliminary investigations by the Indiranagar police indicate that Aarav remained in the apartment for an entire day after the crime. Disturbingly, he was captured on CCTV smoking a cigarette near Maya’s body.

Investigators suspect he contemplated dismembering the body but later abandoned the idea. On the morning of November 24, Aarav reportedly booked a cab and left the apartment. His whereabouts remain unknown, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
Forensic teams have thoroughly examined the crime scene, and police are questioning staff and neighbors to piece together the events leading up to the murder. While the motive remains unclear, investigators believe personal disputes may have escalated into the violent act.
