NDA Registers Hat-Trick Win in Assam
NDA crosses 100 seats in Assam, securing a third straight term with a decisive mandate from voters.

GUWAHATI- ( By Manzar Alam ) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has returned to power in Assam with a decisive mandate, securing a third consecutive term in the 126-member Legislative Assembly.
As per official trends from the Election Commission of India, the NDA has comfortably crossed the majority mark of 64 seatsb by, with the alliance’s tally have reached around 102 seats.
The BJP has emerged as the dominant force in the state, while its allies, including the Asom Gana Parishad and Bodoland Peoples Front, have added to the alliance’s strong performance. The result marks a hat-trick victory for the NDA in Assam, further strengthening its position in the Northeast.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma secured a resounding win from Jalukbari, defeating Congress candidate Bidisha Neog by a margin of over 89,000 votes. The result reaffirms his political stronghold in the constituency.
In contrast, the Congress faced a major setback, with its state president Gaurav Gogoi losing the Jorhat seat to BJP’s Hitendra Nath Goswami by more than 23,000 votes.
The elections witnessed a high voter turnout of around 85–86%, reflecting strong public participation. Polling was conducted in a single phase on April 9 across the state.

The NDA’s campaign centred on development, infrastructure, and governance appears to have resonated with voters, resulting in a clear and decisive mandate.
Reacting to the outcome, BJP leaders termed the victory a “historic mandate,” attributing it to the leadership of Narendra Modi and the performance of the state government.
With this victory, the NDA is set to form the government once again, with Himanta Biswa Sarma expected to continue as Chief Minister..
