In a second time of its kind in Kokrajhar town in Assam , a mass wedding ceremony was held where a total 32 couple tie their nuptial knots. The ceremony was held in connections with Baha festival of Santhali community held at Gauripur Joypur in Kokrajhar on Sunday .
BTC executive member Dhaneswar Goyary helped in organising the mass marriage function.32 couple from economically poor background belonging to Adivashi community from villages like Gauripur Joypur, Karigaon, Bismuri area of Kokrajhar district tied the knot. The marriage was conducted in Hindu ritual at Mwnzgithan (mandir). The couple wore colourful dress and exchange the garland.
BTC executive members Doneswar Goyary, Rajiv Brahma attended and blessed the newly wedded couples. They said the ceremony is to extend help to the people belonging to financially weaker sections of the society.
They also said that we had organized previous year same mass marriage ceremony for the adivasi community at Nayekgaon Paharpur in Kokrajhar and we will help them coming days too.
Newly married couples expresses their thanks, gratitude and happiness.
