Assam: AdtU Hosts Session on AI in Healthcare
Assam down town University hosted a session on AI in healthcare, highlighting its role in diagnostics, neurosurgery, and future medical innovation.
GUWAHATI- Assam down town University (AdtU) recently organised a session on the role of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, bringing together students and industry expertise to examine emerging trends in medical technology.
The session, titled “AI in Healthcare: Transforming Tomorrow,” featured Laina Emmanuel, co-founder and CEO of BrainSight.AI, as the keynote speaker. The discussion focused on how AI-driven tools are reshaping areas such as diagnostics, patient care, and clinical decision-making.
During the session, Emmanuel outlined the growing application of AI in fields such as neuroscience, including developments in human connectomics, MRI-based analysis, and tractography. These technologies, she noted, are contributing to more precise and data-driven approaches in both research and clinical settings.

Referring to her company’s work, Emmanuel highlighted the use of its VoxelBox platform in neurosurgical planning. According to her, such tools enable clinicians to gain more detailed insights into brain structures and functionality, thereby supporting improved surgical outcomes.
The event also provided students with exposure to interdisciplinary aspects of healthcare innovation, including data analytics, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants engaged in discussions on career opportunities in AI-driven healthcare sectors, reflecting growing interest in technology-oriented medical fields.
