Assam CM Invites PM Modi to lay the foundation stone of the Kamakhya Corridor Project

They also discussed a gamut of issues related to Assam.

NEW DELHI-   Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House here on Monday and extended invitation to him to lay the foundation stone of the Kamakhya Corridor Project. They also discussed a gamut of issues related to Assam.

In course of the interactions, the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the ongoing pro-people initiatives and how the people oriented welfare schemes have ameliorated their socio-economic lot.

Expressing his indebtedness to the Prime Minister for his continuous guidance and leadership, Chief Minister Sarma extended invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Assam and to lay the foundation stone of the Kamakhya Corridor Project, dedicate to the nation the imposing statue of Bir Lachit Barphukan at Jorhat, inaugurate the Tinsukia Medical College and to lay the foundation stone of Sivasagar Medical College.

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to seek the Prime Minister’s counsel on organising the Assam Business Summit in 2024. Later taking to X formerly Twitter, the Chief Minister wrote, “Our aim is to establish it (Assam Business Summit) as a platform to attract private investments and accelerate our economic growth.”

The CM also called on Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhawan here on Monday. They
discussed on the roadmap to enhance and modernise rail infrastructure in Assam.

The Union Minister for Railways, Vaishnaw also gave insights on the Government of Assam’s newly released Semiconductor Policy.
