Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal will visit Hailakandi on Saturday to assess the flood damages in the district

The flood situation in Hailakandi district has considerably improved in the past 72 hours. Water has receded with the three major rivers viz., Katakhal, Dholeswari and Barak flowing below the danger level.
Of the 331 villages, 105 villages are now under water. The number of relief camps has come down to 31 with only 33,128 inmates. All the relief camps at Lala and Katlicherra have been closed down.
26 medical teams have been deployed and they are visiting the affected areas and relief camps in Algapur and Hailakandi revenue circles.
Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal will visit Hailakandi on Saturday to assess the flood damages in the district. Sonowal will hold a review meeting with the officials of the district administration and heads of concerned departments.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan held a meeting on Thursday with the officials in connection with the Chief Minister’s upcoming visit and directed the heads of concerned departments to submit detailed reports on Friday.
