Assam: NCC cadets bid adieu to “fit india freedom run movement” in style
Guwahati: NCC cadets of Guwahati Gp NCC participated in the culminating event of “Fit India Freedom Run” today, with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event which was organized by NCC, in association with Mayromanok, included a Cycle Rally and Jungle Trek.
The cycling team comprising both boys and girls cadets of NCC was flagged off from Guwahati, by Brig J C Talukdar, Cdr NCC Gp Guwahati. The team covered a distance of approx 30 kms up toChattargaon village, in the outskirts of the city.
Another team of cadets carried out trekking in the jungles around Chattargaon village, which covered a distance of around 15 kms, witnessing the mesmerising beauty of Theopani waterfall and meandering streams there.
The NCC cadets also interacted with locals particularly people of Rabha Community. They also conveyed social messages of “Physical and Mental Fitness” through running, exercises/Yoga and “Swatch BharatAbhiyan”.
NCC Cadets of Guwahati have been actively participating in “Fit India Freedom Run Movement” which commenced on15 Aug 2020. During this period 1,750 cadets have participated and have covered an overall distance of about 20,156 kms cumulative.
NCC volunteers have been playing a crucial role as frontrunners in this movement and encouraging the people to stay Fit and Healthy during this time of pandemic.
