Assam Police kickstarts awareness on President’s Colour Award by interacting with RGU students

The state police to receive the award on 10th May 2022 from Home Minister Amit Shah for outstanding service to the country in both peace and wartime for continuous 25 years

GUWAHATI-   Two top police officers of Assam Police kickstarted the awareness campaign on the prestigious President’s Colour Award by interacting with the students of The Assam Royal Global University on 28th April 2022. The state police will receive the award on May 10th from Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.

Special Director General of Police (T & AP) Dr. L R Bishnoi and Assam Police Sports AIG Anand Mishra invited the students and faculty members to the award ceremony and explained the importance of the solemn occasion. RGU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S P Singh along with other faculty members and students were present during the interactive session.

Bishnoi said, “Assam is the ninth state in the country to receive this award,” adding that the award is conferred in honor of outstanding service to the country in both peace and wartime continuously for 25 years. The top cop said that RGU is the first university they visited to start the awareness programme regarding the award.

IPS officer Anand Mishra explained about the tradition of receiving, holding and parading the colour. It is basically a President’s special flag or also known as ‘Nishaan,’ which is an emblem that will be worn on the left sleeve of all unit officers’ uniforms.

It needs to be mentioned that The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will design the flag, which will feature 36 stars.

During the interactive session RGU students asked various questions regarding policing to the police officers and the cops motivated the students to join the security forces for serving the state and the country.
