Manipur: Assam Rifles and Manipur Police caught in heated altercation in Bishnupur Dist

IMPHAL- Heated argument erupted between the 9th Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on Saturday when few casper bullet proof vehicle belonging to the 9th Assam Rifles blocked off Kwakta Gothol road in Bishnupur.
A video that emerged on Saturday purportedly showed an argument between the soldiers and police personnel. A defence officer aware of the matter said Assam Rifles men were following the order.

Local media reports claimed that a few Casper bulletproof vehicles belonging to the 9th Assam Rifles blocked off Kwakta Gothol road in Bishnupur.
Manipur Police issued statement on looting of weapons
The heated altercation took place in the aftermath of suspected militants killed three people in the wee hours of Saturday, while injuring a police commando, Paonam Apallo, 32, including a youth who sustained two bullet injuries on his left knee. A woman was also sustained a bullet injury on her thigh.

The Manipur Police. led by Shakti Sen, accused the Assam Rifles of colluding with the Kuki militants for blocking off the Gothol road for interfering in performing their duty.
A similar argument between the 37 Assam Rifles and Manipur Police took place at Sugnu Police Station in June.
