Assam: Bharat Scouts and Guides of NF Railway organises ‘State Level Camporee’

GUWAHATI-  A three-day event of State Level Camporee from 6th to 8th November, 2021 was organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway ( NF Railway ) Bharat Scouts and Guides at State Training Centre, Maligaon. All the 10 District Associations of N. F. Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG/NFR) participated in different kind of competitions such as pioneering competition for Rovers, waste material craft competition for Rangers, folk song, folk dance, exhibition etc.

Anshul Gupta, General Manager, N. F. Railway & Chief Patron of BSG/NFR addressed the camporee in presence of Smt. Abha Gupta, President/NFRWWO & Patron of BSG/NFR, PCPO (Principal Chief Personnel Officer) of N. F. Railway & State Chief Commissioner of BSG/NFR Chandrajit Saikia and other senior officials of headquarters. The General Manager, N. F. Railway paid tribute to Lord Baden – Powell, Lady Baden – Powell and freedom fighter Bipin Chandra Pal by offering flowers to the portraits and lighting the lamp.

The General Manager, N. F. Railway released leaflets prepared on this occasion and flagged of a cycle rally in connection with celebration of the camporee in presence other distinguished dignitaries. The General Manager also inspected exhibition booths and pioneering projects exhibited by the participants.

A camporee is local or regional gathering of scouting units for a period of camping and common activities. The camporee was organised in connection with the 71st Foundation Day of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and to observe the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the theme ‘Salam India”.

On the first day, camporee was started with reporting and registration of all participants. A briefing of the camporee and all its activities was shared by the state level officials of the N. F. Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides. Next day, various activities including leaflet distribution, cycle rally, camp fire, folk dance, session on messenger of peace were organised. The programme was concluded on 8th November with distribution of prizes and citation to the participants by General Manager, N. F. Railway. A cultural programme was also organised in the evening.
