Assam: Govt Clears 1100 Bighas land from encroachers
NAGAON- in Assam, Nagaon district administration made 1100 bighas of land encroachment free by conducting a massive eviction drive. The best thing is that no one opposed such a big eviction drive informed Narendra shah, DC Nagaon.
On Monday, the Nagaon district administration launched an eviction drive at Batadrava, the holy birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, and its surrounding areas, which lasted till late night and was completed without any opposition. However, more than 800 security personnel have been deployed by the district administration to deal with any untoward situation.

The DC informed that “ about 1100 bighas of government land was made encroachment free in this eviction drive which lasted till late night.”
“ Out of a total of 302 families who had encroached on government land for a long time, 230 families had demolished their houses and shifted to different places even before the start of the eviction drive” DC said
“ There were only 72 families who were left till Monday, their houses were demolished by the district administration and the government land was noe made encroachment free” He added .
