Assam:  Gutka, Biri, and Cash Rs 18 Lakh seized in Bokakhat

Bokakhat-  Assam police seized prohibited tobacco products ( Gutka, Biri )  and Cash Rs 18 lakhs from a traders in Bokakhat .

Acting on a secret source information that  Kadam Kalowar, (s/o Late Radhashyam Kalowar, Mohmaiki Gaon, ward No 3 under Bokakhat PS) is stocking and selling Gutkha and other tobacco product violating Disaster Management Act, Bokakhat police, team searched the shop, Godown and residence of the suspected person.

During search, huge amount of Gutkha, biri and other tobacco products and a cash of around 18 Lakh were seized. It is suspected that the cash was acquired during lockdown by stocking and selling Gutkha, tobacco and pan masala at higher price.

Executive Magistrate Rananmay Bharadwaj, ACS accompanied the team at the time of search. Further investigation is on.
