National Seminar to Explore Lingual and Cultural Development in Bodoland

New Delhi/Kokrajhar: The Bodo Study Centre, under the Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, Rajghat, New Delhi, will host a two-day National Seminar on “The Lingual and Cultural Issues of the Local Communities of Bodoland” on 29th and 30th March, 2025. The event aims to address the linguistic and cultural aspirations of Bodoland’s diverse communities and chart a roadmap for inclusive development.
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Pramod Boro will grace the inaugural session as the Chief Guest on March 29, alongside BTC Legislative Assembly Speaker Kati Ram Baro. The seminar will features notable linguistic and cultural experts, including Prof. Shobha Satyanath, Prof. T.S. Satyanath, and Prof. Abdul Alim.

Over 200 community leaders and cultural representatives from the BTR will participate, fostering dialogue on pressing socio-cultural issues.
The seminar builds on the transformative journey of Bodoland following the historic Bodo Peace Accord signed on January 27, 2020.
The Pramod Boro-led BTR Government recently launched the BTR Community Vision Documents under the Bodoland Happiness Mission, reflecting a participatory approach to governance. These vision documents encapsulate the diverse aspirations of BTR communities, promoting sustainable peace, healing, and inclusive development.

This seminar stands out for its community-driven approach, emphasizing equal ownership among stakeholders — grassroots leaders, community organizations, and individuals — fostering trust, inclusion, and social unity. It is expected to guide the Council Government in prioritizing initiatives and allocating resources effectively, ensuring sustainable peace and holistic development.
The event will also highlight the unwavering commitment of the Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), and other civil society organizations to build bridges between communities.
It marks a significant step toward a progressive and harmonious Bodoland, where the scars of the past are healed, and the aspirations of every community shape the region’s future.
