New Executive Committee of NEMF formed

Sanjib Kumar Baruah has been elected as the President while Amrita Madhukalya as Vice President.

NEW DELHI-  Polling to the North East Media Forum (NEMF) held for the first time ever was conducted smoothly.

Returning Officer Sabir Nishat, who is the Deputy Director of Assam Information Centre, New Delhi announced the election results and gave away election certificate to the winning candidates at the Press Club of India premises here on Friday.

Sanjib Kumar Baruah has been elected as the President while Amrita Madhukalya as Vice President. Pranjal Pratim Das has been elected as General Secretary while Huidrom Athouba Meetei as Joint Secretary and Dinesh Kumar Chouhan as Treasurer of the new Executive Committee of NEMF for 2023-2024.

Manish Kumar Shukla, Goutam Bhattacharyya, Gautam Debroy, Saraswat Goswami, Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, Dr. Seram Rojesh, Dibyajyoti Gogoi, Ranjan Jha, Surman Singh and Thejotalu Nakro have been elected as Executive Members of NEMF.

Earlier, the outgoing General Secretary of NEMF Kallol Bhowmik presented the annual report for the year 2021-2023 in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) while outgoing Treasurer, Saraswat Goswami placed the account details and audit report for the financial year 2021-2023.

The AGM presided over by outgoing President Utpal Borpujari entrusted the responsibility to the new Executive Committee to form a constitution amendment committee to incorporate new clauses and to bring about necessary amendments.

The AGM proposed the name of Kallol Bhowmik as head of the constitution amendment committee.

The new Executive Committee of NEMF headed by Sanjib Kumar Baruah, in its first meeting, took some important decisions that included celebrating the completion of 30 glorious years  of NEMF’s existence and conferring of Kalyan Barooah Awards to journalists under five categories.

The award ceremony jointly organised by My Home India and NEMF will be held at the Constitution Club of India on December 11.
