Indefinite strike called by the All Assam Nursing Association ( AANA ) in support of their various demands has affected the normal functioning of govt owned Medical Colleges of the state.
The members of AANA have staged protest in the premises of several colleges including Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH). ,
The All Assam Nurses’ Association (AANA) from Monday started an indefinite strike across Assam demanding amendment to the salary structure published in the Revision of Pay (ROP) of the Seventh Pay Commission.
The Association alleged discrimination in the proposed salary of the general nursing midwifery (GNM) staff in the Seventh Pay Commission report.
It may be mentioned that AANA had staged several strikes in support of their demands. But, permanent solution did not come; therefore they have started the indefinite strike in protest against the alleged betrayal made to the staff nurses by the State government.
