DC Cachar trudges deep inside Assam-Mizoram inter state border
Deputy Commissioner, Jalli and other officials started the journey at 9 am and walked for almost 12 km from Dholai to Aitlang area.
Silchar: Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli along with Divisional Forest Officer, Sunnydeo Choudhury, Range Forest Officer, Dholai, Dibyajyoti Deori and other forest staff trudged along deep inside the Aitlang Khal area along the inter state Assam- Mizoram border to take stock of the situation on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner, Jalli and other officials started the journey at 9 am and walked for almost 12 km from Dholai to Aitlang area.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the local people of the region who told her that few Mizo people have visited the area in the last few days .
They informed the Deputy Commissioner that Mizo miscreants have removed the forest boundary pillars at Aitlang area. After the border inspection, the team returned back to Dholai through Jamirkhal area at around 6 pm. The team travelled for about 25 km on foot for eight hours.
It was decided to beef up security at the border area as the miscreants have already demolished two school buildings inside Assam’s boundary. This is stated in a Press Release issued from
