‘The Hindu Manifesto’ Launched in Guwahati Amid Discussions on Hindu Resurgence
The launch event in Guwahati brought together religious leaders, academicians and civil society members to discuss themes of Hindu resurgence, nation-building and cultural identity.

GUWAHATI – The Hindu Manifesto, a book authored by Swami Vigyananand Ji, was formally launched in Guwahati on Friday during an event organised under the banner of Samagra Vikas Nyas.
The programme, themed “Hindu Resurgence and the Awakening of Hindutva,” witnessed participation from academicians, intellectuals, social leaders, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) functionaries and members of civil society.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting attended by Swami Vigyananand Ji, former Rajya Sabha MP Bhubaneswar Kalita, senior journalist and Global Governance News representative Dr. Kumar Rakesh, Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana National General Secretary Himanta Dhing Majumdar, VHP North-East Regional Organising Secretary Dinesh Tiwari, retired IAS officer Hitesh Dev Sharma and Samagra Vikas Nyas Director Poonam Sharma, among others.

Guests and participants were felicitated with traditional gamosas, floral bouquets and commemorative mementos during the programme.
Several public figures and community representatives, including businessman Amit Jain, Vidyadhar Deka, Rajesh Gupta, World Meitei Council president Nav Kishore and VHP Kshetra Mahamantri Kumud Borthakur, also attended the event.
The inaugural address was delivered by Govind Goswami, while Dr. Kumar Rakesh presented the introductory remarks. In his address, Dr. Rakesh referred to Swami Vigyananand Ji’s efforts toward what he described as Hindu awakening and global Hindu unity. He stated that the themes explored in The Hindu Manifesto were linked to broader ideas of nation-building and social organisation.

Following the official release of the publication, Swami Vigyananand Ji delivered the keynote address, outlining the eight “sutras” or principles discussed in the book. According to him, the principles are intended to contribute towards building a socially cohesive and prosperous society.
During the programme, Himanta Dhing Majumdar spoke on historical interpretations and colonial-era narratives, alleging that British rulers had distorted aspects of Indian history.
Presiding over the event, former Rajya Sabha MP Bhubaneswar Kalita described the book as a contribution towards strengthening social consciousness within contemporary Hindu society. He also called for wider public participation in social and cultural initiatives.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Poonam Sharma, Director of Samagra Vikas Nyas, who acknowledged the participation of guests, media representatives and attendees.
The event was anchored by Dr. Kalpana Bora, Head of the Department of Physics at Gauhati University, and concluded with the rendition of Vande Mataram.
