Bandh, Rail Roko and Dharna effecting train services- NFR

Train services over Northeast Frontier Railway are getting affected badly due to Bandh, Rail Roko, Dharna etc called by various organisations, said a press release issued by Northeast Frontier Railway.
The reasons for such obstructions are normally not even remotely connected with the railway department. As a result of such obstruction to railway operations, punctuality of trains is affected very badly with consequences continuing upto 7-8 days apart from cancellations, short termination etc, mentioned in the press release.
According to press release Railways also incur heavy loss due to such sudden cancellations of trains. Passengers who include patients, senior citizens and students appearing in various examinations suffer badly for such act of blocking train movements.
As per data provided by NFR, the railway services have been effected for a total of 177 days in 2015, 139 days in 2016 and 120 days till October 2017 due to bandh, rail roko and dharna in Assam, Bihar and Bengal.
Meanwhile the N.F.Railway authority appealed to all such organisations to not resort to such undesired obstruction to movement of trains. Cancellation of train ultimately leads loss to National exchequer and untold misery to bonafide passengers.
