4 arrested for Stone pelting at Australian cricket team bus in Guwahati

Manoj Medhi, Mantu kalita and 2 others have been arrested by garchuk Police station Guwahati in connection with the stone pelting incident at the Australian cricket team bus after the second T20l of the three-match series that took place in Guwahati earlier this week.
“Four people have been arrested in connection with the attack on Australian cricket team’s bus in Guwahati,” said Assam director general of police (DGP) Mukesh Sahay on Sunday.
Amongst them Manoj Medhi pelted stone to the Australian team bus. All the four youths were heavily drunk. They consumed hard drinks in a nearby field.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had earlier directed the DGP to arrest the culprits to the earliest.
Police recovered empty bottles disposable glasses from the PO as led by one of the accused. The case is being vigorously investigated by city police Guwahati under supervision of the DCP west.
Australian opener Aaron Finch has earlier tweeted a picture of a broken window saying, “Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!”
