Saras Food Festival: Delhites are reaching Assam’s stall to drink Assam tea

No ticket has been issued to come here. One can come to the festival from 11 am to 10 pm.

NEW DELHI- These days, people are reaching the stalls of Assam state to taste tea in the Saras Food Festival organized on Baba Kharak Singh Marg of Connaught Place, which is called the heart of Delhi.

Tulika, who sells tea and other delicious dishes at the stall, said that she has set up a stall in the Food Festival of Delhi for the third time.

She said that the people of Delhi like Assam tea very much. Coming to the stall, people not only enjoy sipping tea but also have a lot of demand for packed tea leaves.

Last year, she had brought 15 kg of tea leaves with her, which got exhausted even before the food festival. Due to this, more stock had to be ordered later. This time she has come fully prepared.

She further told that this time she has brought 30 kg tea leaves with her. Not only this, traditional dishes of Assam are also being served at the stalls there.

Let us tell you that Saras Food Festival is a unique example of women empowerment, where women from different states come and set up stalls. Its objective is not only to introduce people to the food culture of the country but also to inspire other rural women.

SARAS Food Festival has been organized in national capital by the Ministry of Rural Development from December 01 to December 17, 2023 at the lawns of Handicrafts Bhawan, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place, New Delhi where people can enjoy delicious cuisine from 21 States of India and entry to the festival is free.

About 150 women entrepreneurs and members of the self-help groups from across the country are participating with more than 30 stalls in this grand arrangement.

Saras Food Festival provides a glimpse of Indian culture and food to the visitors where people can enjoy the delicious cuisine of 21 states along with glimpses of the culture and social fabric of the Rural India.
